5 possible causes and how to solve it.
1. Water stress
- Too much water -
The roots of your plants cannot breathe and eventually die. The leaves start off as a pale green before changing to a brighter yellow.
Solution
Repot your plant and adjust the watering.
- Less water -
With the lack of water, your plant discards some leaves to survive. In addition to turning yellow, the leaves begin to curl, droop and become brittle, eventually falling.
Solution
Water your plant periodically and spray it with our Plant Food as it helps it stay strong and more resistant to water stresses.
2. Normal aging
The cycle of life does not stop! Our plants, just like us, age too.
If only the oldest leaves are turning yellow and the rest of the plant is still beautiful and healthy…
Solution
… accept and thanks them for having contributed to photosynthesis.
3. Light
- Too much light -
Some species of house plants, such as calatheas, ferns or peace lilies, if they are exposed to too much sun / light, the green of their leaves will become paler, turning yellow.
Solution
Move them a little away from the light source or place them in another room in the house.
- Less wight -
If you can associate a more accentuated yellowing with a change of season (usually in winter), or if the yellowness is accompanied by an inclination of the plant towards the light, the periods between waterings are too long or the potting soil does not dry completely between waterings, then you will have to:
Solution
Relocate your plant, bring it closer to the window, add artificial light and periodically clean its leaves with our Leaf Cleanser so that dust does not block photosynthesis.
4. Adaptation to a new location
If you've just brought your plant from the store or you've changed the decor of your home, changing where it usually is, it may have to adjust to the new light conditions, discarding some of its leaves.
Solution
Give it time, but keep an eye on her. If after some time, it stops losing leaves and starts creating new releases, then it's because it's happy!
5. Nutrient deficiency
If you've had your plant for some time and you've never fertilized it, then the yellowing of the younger leaves, which is sometimes patterned with the leaf veins remaining dark, could be an indication of a lack of nutrients.
Solution
You should periodically spread our Soil Booster on the surface of the potting soil as it will nurture it.
